Suspects sought after couple shot in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A couple in their early 20s were hospitalized Saturday evening after being shot in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department announced.

Police say just before 9:30 p.m. they received a Shot Spotter notification for shots fired near Delmar and Griffith avenues.

While en route, officers say they received a call from a man who told them he and his girlfriend had been shot.

Investigators learned the couple was parked in their car near Griffith and Delmar avenues when they were both shot. They then drove to the In-n-Out on Blackstone and Ashlan avenues and waited for first responders.

Police say both victims were transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Detectives are actively working to gather suspect information and have yet to determine if this shooting was a random act of violence.
