Shelby County jail employee accused of sodomizing female inmate

SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Shelby County Detention Center employee is facing sodomy charges after allegedly making “inappropriate sexual advances” toward an inmate.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) was notified on Friday, April 4, of 31-year-old Ladonis Mayfield’s alleged inappropriate conduct while on duty at the Shelby County Detention Center on April 1.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

According to KSP, Mayfield is accused of making inappropriate sexual advances toward a female inmate.

On April 7, he was arrested and lodged in the Oldham County Jail on two counts of third-degree sodomy.

The sexual abuse investigation remains ongoing.
