Rockford police seize loaded handgun during traffic stop

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police officers took another unlicensed gun off the streets on Sunday, after a traffic stop resulted in a pair of arrests.

Authorities said officers stopped a car in the 3100 block of N. Rockton on Sunday, around 7:13 p.m.

Within, police said they found a loaded handgun and over 21 grams of cannabis.

Jose DeLaRosa-Marquez, 20, was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, No Valid Firearm Owner’s Identification, and various traffic offenses.

Alexis Guzman-Marquez, 19, was charged with Possession of Cannabis.
