Alliance for Israel Welcomes New Indiana University ADL Grade

Bloomington, Indiana – The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) just announced revised grades for 19 of the 135 American institutions of higher education it assessed in the 2025 ADL Campus Antisemitism Report Card, based upon the campus climate of 2024. These 19 institutions included Indiana University-Bloomington, whose grade improved from a C to a grade of B. Purdue University’s grade improved from a B to A.

The improved grades were based on actions the universities and colleges have taken to curb antisemitism on campus. In Indiana University’s case, the ADL noted the “additional information on civil discourse programming and condemnation of antisemitism on campus” as positive factors, and improvements  in administrative actions, Jewish life on campus, and campus conduct and climate. However, the ADL noted its continuing concerns regarding the prominent level of hostile anti-Zionist student groups and anti-Zionist staff and faculty. The ADL’s detailed discussion about Indiana University can be found here.

The Alliance for Israel welcomes the new ADL grade, which is consistent with its Statement on Department of Education Investigation of Indiana University. The Alliance for Israel (formerly called IU Faculty & Staff for Israel) was founded in the aftermath of the brutal attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel on October 7, 2023. It is a diverse group of individuals who seek to counter false narratives about Israel, deepen understanding about the current conflict, foster the return of a civil exchange of knowledge and viewpoints, and protect Jewish students, faculty, staff, and institutions from experiencing antisemitism. We believe that Israel has a right to a peaceful existence in the Middle East. For more information, see the group’s website.
