New Orleans casino dealer, player arrested on theft allegations

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A Caesars Casino dealer and patron are in police custody on allegations of theft.

According to Louisiana State Police, on April 8, LSP Gaming Enforcement Division detectives started investigating a theft of more than $10,000 involving a dealer.

The investigation revealed 46-year-old Margaret Lake, who worked as a Roulette dealer, allegedly assisted in the theft by allowing 23-year-old Ahmond Junius to place several late wagers.

Troopers said on April 11, search and arrest warrants were executed at Junius’ home. He was taken into custody and booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges of theft between $5,000 and $25,000.

Lake was arrested that same day at the casino and booked on one count of theft between $5,000 and $25,000.

Troopers add that the incident remains under investigation.
