Missing boater found dead in Biloxi Bay

BILOXI, Miss. (WKRG) — A missing man’s body was found in Mississippi’s Biloxi Bay over the weekend.

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call about an empty vessel with the motor running Sunday morning.

A spokesperson with the Coast Guard told News 5 that crews went out around 11 a.m. to search the bay. They later posted on social media asking the public for information about the boat.

“U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile is looking for any information on a 17ft Cape Horn vessel, registration number MI0191AZ. The vessel is adrift at the mouth of Biloxi Bay with the motor running and no one on board.”

The boater’s body was found around 2:30 p.m. in Biloxi Bay, located between Biloxi and Ocean Springs.

The Coast Guard confirms the boater was a man but are unable to release additional information about his identity.
