Byron man sentenced to 25 years for sexually assaulting two girls

OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — Duane Upchurch, 60, of Byron, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting two girls.

In August 2019, Upchurch was arrested following an investigation begun in March of that year, which alleged he had sexual contact with the victims.

He was convicted on two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse in April 2022.

Upchurch has filed a motion to reconsider his sentence. The Ogle County Court will hear that motion on June 9th, 2025.
