Bloomington man charged with possession of child, bestiality porn

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana State Police have arrested a Bloomington man wanted for possession of child porn and bestiality porn.

Robert Scanlon Jr. was arrested Monday by ISP’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit during the execution of a search warrant. Scanlon, a 54-year-old Bloomington resident, now faces five felony charges.

The investigation into Scanlon started in March after ISP received tips that someone was uploading child pornography files involving bestiality. Several agencies – including local police and prosecutors – investigated the case.

After evidence identified Scanlon as the suspect, a search warrant was applied for and granted. On Monday, that warrant was executed and he was arrested without incident.

Scanlon has since been booked into the Monroe County Jail on the following charges:

• Possession of Child Pornography (Under the Age of 12/Bestiality) – Level 5 Felony
  • 5 counts

Online court records have not yet been updated to reflect an initial hearing in Scanlon’s case. It is unknown if bond has been set for his release. No other information was immediately provided by ISP.
