Bakersfield student council leads blood drive efforts


Communities affected by this year’s storms are in higher need of blood donations. Bakersfield, which was affected by the March 14 tornadoes, will be holding a Red Cross Blood Drive April 24 from 9:30 to 1:30 in the Bakersfield FEMA Building.




Bakersfield R-IV School District Counselor Trudy Summers says Bakersfield students are leading the donation efforts.

Donors will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last and be entered into a drawing for a $5,000 prize.

To register to donate, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblooddrive.org. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
