Washington man used Discord to sexually exploit 3 Oregon children

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 26-year-old man from Battle Ground will spend more than 20 years in prison after sexually exploiting a trio of Oregon children via social media, officials announced Friday.

Jakob Stickney was also ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to each of his victims and was sentenced to a lifetime term of supervised release.

Stickney used Discord — a social media platform used for voice, video, and text communication — to contact his victims, authorities said.

“Between August and September 2023, Stickney, who used the names ‘UNHOLY,’ ‘unholy_xx2,’ or ‘Unholy_22x’ online, engaged in sexually explicit communications with children on Discord. Following months of online chatting with children in different states, Stickney attempted to arrange an in-person meetup with a child in Oregon. Stickney went in person to the child’s house where he was confronted by the child’s mother, and she reported the contact to law enforcement,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

In Oct. 2023, Discord notified officials about sexually explicit messages between Stickney and another child.

“Stickney learned the child had a sibling and persuaded both children to engage in sexually explicit conduct. Additionally, he convinced the child to record sexually explicit conduct and send it to him to gain membership to a Discord group called ‘Unholy Girls’ that Stickney created and maintained,” authorities said.

Stickney was arrested on Nov. 17, 2023. Child sexual abuse material was discovered on his phone when it was seized by officers. He was charged with coercing and enticing a minor, sexually exploiting children, and possessing child pornography on Dec. 30, 2024. He pleaded guilty to two of the charges on Jan. 23.
