LIST: Easter events, festivals, and more family fun this weekend

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Looking for a fun way to spend the weekend? Check out these events in Utah — there’s plenty to do around the state with fairs, Easter activities, a climbing festival, and more.

Cache County

Baby Animal Days: On April 11 – 12, head to the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville to see cute animals up close and personal, including chicks, goats, turtles, bunnies, ponies, and more. There will also be wagon rides, historic demonstrations, and food vendors. Tickets start at $12.

Iron County

Spring Wind Symphony Concert: The Southern Utah University Music Department will be hosting a Wind Symphony Concert on Friday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. The price for adults is $10, $8 for SUU alumni, and $5 for youth and non-SUU students.

Salt Lake County

Easter Bunny Hop: The Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum will be hosting an Easter Bunny Hop on Saturday, April 12, from 9:15 a.m. – 11 a.m. At the museum, kids will be able to search for eggs, meet baby bunnies, and watch bunny races. There will also be face painting, crafts, and a light breakfast. The prices are $20 for non-members and $10 for museum members.

Easter Bunny Tea: Join the Grand America Hotel for some teatime with the Easter Bunny. Enjoy pastries, teas, sandwiches, and a visit with the Easter Bunny. You can book times on the dates of April 11- 13, or next weekend, April 18-20.

Spring Bonsai Show: At the Red Butte Garden, bonsais will be on display this weekend. It will feature a selection of bonsai trees, shaped through classic tradition. See them Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 13 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Entrance is free for garden members; for the general public, it’s included with the price of admission.

Tooele County

Easter Egg Hunt at Clark Historic Farm: Enjoy a fun Easter egg hunt at Clark Historic Farm on April 12 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with themes inspired by Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit books. For $17, children will get an Easter tote bag and be divided into age groups to find Easter eggs, which can be exchanged for a treat bag.

Those who find special golden eggs can win bigger prizes, including a bike gift certificate. Also, you’ll be able to visit with Peter Rabbit and his friend, Lily Bobtail. Afterward, you can enjoy a picnic, available for a pre-purchase of $8, which includes sandwiches, chips, cookies, and drinks. If you’re wanting to join in on this event, you will need to pre-register online.

Utah County

Lamb and Wool Festival: On Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Thanksgiving Point Curiosity Farms will be hosting a Lamb and Wool festival. Attendees can watch the shearing process of sheep and llamas. Children ages 2 and under can enter free. Adults are $24, youth (13-17) $19, and children (3-12) $17.

Saratoga Springs Easter Egg Hunts: On Friday, April 11, teens in Saratoga Springs can join in on an after-dark Easter Egg hunt. This event will be at Patriot Park at 9 p.m.

Saturday, there will be an Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. at the park. There will also be food trucks from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m., with opportunities to play games, earn prizes, and take a picture with the Easter Bunny.

Lehi Easter Egg Hunts: There will also be Easter Egg Hunts in Lehi City this weekend. Friday, April 11, at 9 p.m. there will be a teen flashlight egg hunt at Osier Park. On Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt for children. Both events are free, the Saturday one requires pre-registration. Additionally, there will be a package breakfast at the park hosted by the Lehi Youth Council Fundraiser on Saturday for $5 a person.

Weber County

Ogden Climbing Festival: The Weber State University Outdoor Program will be hosting the Ogden Climbing Festival from April 11-13. The event will run for three days, complete with climbing clinics, competitions, speakers, and more. View the full schedule online.

Washington County

Washington County Fair: This weekend, the Washington County Fair will be kicking off at Legacy Park in Hurricane. It runs from April 11 – 19, with activities such as a carnival, petting zoo, vendors, tractor pull, fireworks, and more. View the full schedule online.

Red Stone Highland Games: Celebrate all things Scottish with the Redstone Highland Games and Festival will be taking place in St. George from April 11-12, featuring the “Strongman” and “Highland Games” competition, as well as live music. Admission is free.
