Over the weekend almost two dozen groups will occupy two stages for the enjoyment of festival goers. WGNO’s LBJ brings us a look at the entertainment.
“We’re a big band, seven to eight piece, got a horn section, and we try to throw back, and I mean, do it as our own self. We dance. We do our own songs. We do stuff people know. It’s our own thing,” said Tyler Kinchen with band “Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces.”
Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces is just one of almost two dozen groups set to perform at 2025’s Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival.
Yes, the berries and the food take top billing here, but with two stages, the entertainment is also stellar. Friday night the entertainment rolls until 10 p.m. with headliners The Kings of Neon.
Saturday’s performances start at 11:45 a.m. and roll until 10 p.m., but you’ll hear Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces at 2:30 p.m.
“The whole festival, it’s a really unique experience. I know that there are a plethora of festivals throughout. They’ve all got their own niche, but Strawberry Festival is in little bitty Memorial Park there in Ponchatoula, a little bitty town. A lot of people, a lot of food, a lot of strawberries,” said Kinchen.
And a lot of great music! Sunday kicks off early with a church service at 9 a.m. on the north stage, and rolls all day until 7 p.m. There’s something for everyone on stage at the Ponchatoula Strawberry Fest.
