Warming trend takes a pause for a few days

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A cold front is moving through the ArkLaTex on Thursday and will bring an end to the warming trend that we have seen during the past several days. The dry weather will continue through the weekend!

Friday Weather:  Temperatures on Friday will begin slightly cooler than they were on Thursday.  Lows will range from the mid to upper 40s over the northern half of the area to the low to middle 50s over the south.  Daytime highs on Friday will remain near or even a little above normal in spots.  Highs will range from the mid-70s across the north to the upper 70s to low 80s across the south.  You can expect very similar temperatures on Saturday, before the warming trend resumes on Sunday and Monday.  

Dry weather to continue:  Futurecast shows that any clouds associated with the cold front will quickly dissipate on Thursday night and will lead to a mostly sunny sky on Friday.  We will then stay clear on Friday night and once again experience plenty of sunshine on Saturday.

Long-range outlook: Your 10-day forecast shows a brief pause in the warming trend on Friday and Saturday behind today’s front.  Lows will fall back into the 40s and low 50s. Daytime highs will fall back into the 70s and low 80s. We will see much warmer air quickly return on Sunday and Monday, with highs warming into the upper 80s.  That warm-up will end on Tuesday.  Highs during the rest of next week will be in the 70s and 80s.  Overnight lows during the period will mainly be in the 50s and 60s.  Most models show that most of the ArkLaTex will stay dry during most of the period, with only a slight chance of a shower on Easter Sunday.  Highs on Easter will likely be in the low to middle 80s.
