RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies arrested a man and a woman who were accused of selling methamphetamine from a home.

Around noon on Thursday, April 10, investigators executed a residential search warrant at a home on Tami Avenue near Richland.

Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said Barry Tatum Yawn, 43, and Dawn Marie Martin, 46, were arrested. He said multiple packages of methamphetamine were recovered, as well as a 9mm handgun.

Yawn was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sale or distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and conspiracy to commit a felony. Martin was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Both Yawn and Martin were transported to the Rankin County Detention Center. Burnell said they will be held without bond until their initial appearance in Rankin County Court.
