Police lock down Silverton High School over reports of active shooter, threat not found

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area of Silverton High School amid a large police presence in the area Friday afternoon.

Officials said parents should “report to the middle school near the tennis courts” but avoid the high school after police received a report of an active shooter at 1:30 p.m.

“Officers immediately put the school in lockdown and conducted a search,” police said. “No threat was found.”
