The Baxter County Historical Society will be holding their Spring Open House Saturday to showcase the progress made at the new facility on Bomber Boulevard.
Admission is free and musical group Rio will be playing in the Museum exhibit area from 11 to 1 and a silent auction. Additionally, the Baxter County Master Gardeners will be set up to answer gardening questions.
Sonny Sharp says they’re doing something new for this open house by featuring local authors.

The open house will also feature new exhibits such as miniature replicas of the community of Buford. Sharp says a focus of this exhibit will be one prominent Baxter County figure, George Newton Nelson.

Nelson’s legacy didn’t end with him, as his children also become prominent in the area.

As a special promotion, only for the open house, membership dues are reduced to only $25.
