KSP: Undercover crimes against children investigation leads to Springfield arrest

SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man was charged on April 10 following an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation in Washington County.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) said the investigation began after its Electronic Crime Branch discovered that images of child sexual exploitation were being shared online.

Around 6:32 p.m. on Thursday, Joseph Timothy Graves, 53, was arrested on charges related to child sexual abuse material, per KSP.

According to a news release, a search warrant in Springfield led to equipment used to facilitate the alleged crime being taken and examined at a forensic lab.

Police said Graves was charged with 10 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12 years old and was lodged in the Washington County Detention Center.

The exploitation investigation is ongoing.
