105 Oregon US Cellular workers to be laid off as company attempts to sell to T-Mobile

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Dozens of layoffs are set to take place for Oregon US Cellular workers as the company attempts to make a major deal with a competitor.

Nationwide, 4,100 roles will be terminated. That includes 105 positions across Oregon being cut.

This comes amid US Cellular’s attempt to sell its entire operation to T-Mobile. As part of the deal, US Cellular has made arrangements with T-Mobile to offer employment to most of these employees at a salary or wage benefit.
