Where Y’at this Weekend: French Quarter Fest, The Fillmore, Strawberry Fest, French Quarter townhome
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Thursday is the beginning of the largest free music festival in the south: French Quarter Fest is back, with fantastic food and some of the city’s top musicians. But this weekend also features a spectacular festival for strawberries, a French-themed soiree and a concert to remember. Here are Where Y’at‘s picks:
First, Thursday night, April 11 and Saturday night, April 13, after French Quarter Fest, the House of Blues hosts Black & Loud NOLA. The concert will feature Cyril Neville, King Youngblood and other special guests. Grab dinner at the House of Blues’ restaurant before the show to make it a full night out!

Calling all country music fans: Thursday, April 10 The Fillmore welcomes rising country star Wyatt Flores. Flores will be playing songs from his album, Welcome to the Plains, which also incorporates Americana and folk-rock. The concert opens with Bayker Blankenship.
Next, Friday, April 11, the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival returns to Ponchatoula’s Memorial Park to celebrate the region’s beloved strawberry farmers. The event features live music from Paperchase and others, along with festival rides and of course, plenty of Ponchatoula’s famous strawberries.
Finally, on Saturday night, April 11, immerse yourself in a 19th century setting at the Spring Fiesta Association’s French Quarter townhome for a historical experience with the Marquis de Lafayette. The evening features a dinner, costumed characters, plus a quartet performing excerpts from Hamilton, and more.
