SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Two New Orleans men were arrested in connection with a Slidell drug investigation on March 26.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives arrested 30-year-old Derwin Alexander and 33-year-old Robert Garrett Jr. as part of a drug investigation that started in February.

STPSO detectives said Alexander and Garrett are accused of delivering drugs to Slidell from New Orleans.

Alexander and Garrett were reportedly found at a Slidell gas station and taken into custody.

According to the sheriff’s office, a search of the two and their vehicle allegedly resulted in the recovery of crack cocaine, marijuana, unlawfully possessed Tapentadol pills, fentanyl powder, drug paraphernalia and a gun reported as stolen.

STPSO officials said, in total, “detectives seized 143.5 grams of marijuana, 6.6 grams of crack cocaine, 10 units of Tapentadol and more than 48 grams of Fentanyl.”

Alexander faces the following charges:

  • Distribution of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
  • Distribution of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine)
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana)
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (Tapentadol)
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Garrett faces the following charges:

  • Distribution of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
  • Distribution of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (fentanyl)
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine)
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a schedule I controlled dangerous substance (marijuana)
  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
