SHENANDOAH – At a special meeting Monday night, the Shenandoah Valley Board of Education named a new high school cheerleading coach and approved the sale of two prominent blighted buildings to the borough.
The school board approved Gabrielle Reinoehl as head varsity cheerleading coach at a salary of $3,420. Megan Mehalick was named assistant coach at a stipend of $1,750.
Also approved was the repository tax sale of 137 and 139 East Coal Street to Shenandoah Borough for $1 each.
The property at 137, which is halfway demolished, is owned by Connie Lee Purcell and 139, which is collapsing, is owned by Lawrence M. Purcell, both of 35 West Maple Street, Mahanoy City.
