Nick Saban added to the 2025 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame class

NATCHITOCHES, La. — Nick Saban has officially been added to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame’s 2025 class.

Saban spent five years as head coach of the LSU Tigers, where he led the program to SEC Championship wins in 2001 and 2003 along with a BCS National Championship in 2003.

Saban was named the SEC and Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year as well as the AP College Football Coach of the Year in 2003.

He would tally a 48-16 record with the Tigers and leave LSU following the 2004 season.

After two years with the Miami Dolphins, Saban would return to the SEC as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he would cement his legacy as one of the top head coaches in college football history.

Saban led Alabama to nine SEC titles and six national championships. He retired from coaching following the 2023 football season and joined the College Gameday crew on ESPN’s Saturday morning broadcasts.

Saban was nominated for an Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent Emmy Award after his first season on the show.
