Missouri municipal election to be held Tuesday

Tuesday is the day for voters to go to the polls in this year’s municipal elections in Missouri. There will be races among four school boards and one town in Ozark County this year.

Voters in the Bakersfield R-IV School District will decide on three board positions. Incumbents Kyle Clayton and Darren Johnston will face challengers Austin Lamb, Kevin Goodwin and Joseph Vaughn with the top two vote-getters winning three-year terms. In addition, Stanton Cory Lamb and Andrea Russell are running for a one-year position to finish the remainder of Mike Scott’s term after he left the position vacant.

On the Gainesville R-V School Board, current members Dakota Nash and Heather Bushner will run for reelection, but Vice President Robby Walrath will not. Nash, Sally Hambelton and Wes Uchtman will be running for the two open three-year terms. Bushner will face Jeffrey Lane and Nick Jones for the open one-year position.

In the Lutie R-VI School District, incumbents Jennifer Garrison and Suzanne Meeks are being challenged by Amanda VanDeWalle and Thomas Matthew Herd. The two with the most votes will be elected to three-year terms.

Dora R-III School Board members Dylan Leroy and Shelby Nold will be joined on the ballot by challenger Derik Collins. The top two vote-getters will serve on the board for the next three years.

In addition, four candidates will be running for three positions on the Theodosia Village Board. Incumbents Kimberly Horner and John Maglione and challengers Brian E. Ross and Nancy Wilson will be seeking the three open two-year terms. Current board member Julie Rothenberg did not run for reelection.

In Howell County, two candidates are running to be the newest member of the West Plains City Council. Ron Grennan and Jarryd Alsup are looking to succeed John Niesen, who did not run for reelection. The term will be for four years.

Polls will close at 7 Tuesday evening.
