Tickets to the Salt Lake Bees’ new stadium will cost you more than they used to

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The Salt Lake Bees are playing their first game at the new ballpark in South Jordan tomorrow, though fans of the team might notice that prices are a little different than they used to be.

The Ballpark at America First Square is located in the Daybreak neighborhood of South Jordan. Crews have been hard at work since Oct. 2023 to build the Bees’ new hive. The stadium will seat 8,000 fans, downsizing from the 15,500 seats in Smith’s Ballpark.

The price difference between the two ballparks is most obvious when it comes to season passes. A full season pass at Smith’s Ballpark last season was $1,350 for “Diamond” seats at the stadium. This came out to roughly $18 per ticket. At the new Ballpark at America First Square, a full-season pass in the best seating is $3,525, which is $47 per ticket. This means the new ballpark will cost $29 more per ticket for the season passes.

For fans seeking single-game tickets, tomorrow’s game against the Reno Aces still has a few spots on Ticketmaster.

The cheapest seats left are $35 and are located on the terrace of the stadium. For $39, you can sit in the bullpen seating. With tickets running low, some fans may be at the mercy of resale. The most expensive resale ticket is $203.88, but most are priced between $40 and $100.

Future games at the stadium show that advance prices for the lawn seating will start at $13, and standard seating will run between $25 and $51.

The prices may seem low compared to major league teams but are somewhat high when compared to other minor league baseball teams. Tickets to an Oklahoma City Comets game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma will run you between $16 and $29. For the Bees’ upcoming game against the Sacramento River Cats, tickets at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, California, cost between $11 and $31 (with some diamond club seating priced at $79).

The Ballpark at America First Square features more amenities than Smith’s Ballpark. On opening night, nine new food and beverage options will be available at the venue, with six more planned to open in the future. It will also have a play zone for children, according to a press release from Miller Sports + Entertainment.
