According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to the 300 block of South Madison Avenue around 9:08 a.m. for the report of a shooting.
The victim was located, and first aid was administered, but she died a short time later after being transported to a local hospital, police said.
The victim has not been formally identified by police.
On Tuesday, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office announced that three people had been arrested as a result of the investigation.
Hunter Drefahl, 26, of Evansville, has been charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor Causing Death, Possession of Child Pornography, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Child Enticement, and Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.
Alyssa Ahrens, 20, of Evansville, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor Causing Death, Possession of Child Pornography, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Child Enticement, Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
William Drefahl, 44, was arrested on a probation violation.
The case is still under investigation, authorities said.
