NOTE: This article has been turned into an almanac of Monday’s weather. We have published a new forecast/weather story for Tuesday.
It felt more like late winter than early Spring Monday. The day’s 46 degree high temperature occurred just before 8 a.m., with the bulk of the day spent in the 30s, a level far below the mid-50s which is considered normal.
Variably cloudy skies and gusty winds accompanied periodic snow showers.
By early Monday evening, temperatures were barely above freezing with bone chilling wind chills in the lower to middle 20s.
Sub-normal temperatures were common for all virtually the entire Midwest and Great Lakes region.
The next 12 hours will feature temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s with wind chills well below freezing.
