Neighboring departments from the area rushed to the scene to help extinguish the flames.
Molly Senior, a local business owner and volunteer firefighter, felt a sense of relief when others came to help the town.
“To see so many come so quickly was very humbling, and just I mean, that’s what community does though. They you pick up, and you go, and you help. No questions asked. You get a call, and you respond,” she said.
The fire department has one available engine left. Senior said she and other volunteer firefighters are prepared to utilize their personal vehicles to respond to emergencies.
“We’ll take our personal vehicles to the scene and do what we can. And we will rely on the backup of other departments, as we did that night, to come assist us if the need be,” she said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
