At a house gambling oversight committee hearing Monday, the state’s gaming control board testified they’re all across the commonwealth. They believe they’re illegal and asked lawmakers to ban them in the state.
“I’ve actually had a constituent who called me and said, I’m addicted to this and I can’t give it up,” State Rep. and Chair of Gambling Oversight Committee Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) said. “He’s, he’s addicted to these things, not the sports betting, not the legal stuff that we do here in Pennsylvania. But he’s addicted to these things.”
Some of the sites advertise on TV and newspapers and even have celebrity endorsers like Ryan Seacrest and Paris Hilton. Like skills games, with no explicit law, the gaming control board says there’s little it can do.
