You can now use contactless payment on SEPTA regional rail

(WPHL)– Attention SEPTA commuters you can now use contactless pay methods on all modes of transportation.

Starting April 4, SEPTA customers will be able to easily tap their credit, debit card, and mobile wallet to pay for fares on all buses, trolleys, subways, and trains.

Customers can tap the card at any of the turnstiles to enter and pay and then tap out using the same card on their way out.

“With this expansion to Regional Rail, SEPTA is the first commuter rail network in the
country to accept contactless payments,” said SEPTA Board Chair Kenneth E. Lawrence Jr.

“This technology makes SEPTA more convenient for customers who may not want to plan their trips in advance, purchase a physical Key Card, or use cash to pay their fares – just tap and go,” said SEPTA Interim General Manager Scott A. Sauer.
