TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office shared additional information about the arrest of a man in connection with the death of an Amite-area couple.

On Thursday, April 3, TPSO detectives launched an investigation after 66-year-old Priscilla Brocato was found dead inside a home on Eastwood Drive during a welfare check. TPSO officials said her husband, 75-year-old Marc Brocato, was later found dead on the property after being sought as a possible victim.

TPSO officials said 34-year-old Joshua Brocato, identified by deputies as the couple’s son, was initially being sought as a person of interest, but a warrant was later issued for his arrest on two counts of first-degree murder after the couple’s autopsy.

On Friday, April 4, the TPSO reported that Joshua Brocato was taken into custody in Los Angeles County, California, after his van had been tracked to Fairfax Avenue.

On Sunday, TPSO investigators said Joshua Brocato was “wearing green military-style attire and had three guns in the van, including an assault rifle, along with body armor” at the time of his arrest.

According to deputies, Joshua Brocato faces charges of possession of a loaded unregistered firearm, possession of an assault weapon and alter or remove a serial number on a firearm in California in addition to the charges he faces in Tangipahoa Parish.
