As shelter staff work to take in pets from evacuating flood victims, members are asking the community for help keeping them sheltered until they can be reunited with their families.
“What we are asking of you is help with temporary foster placement for our current resident dogs,” the ACACC wrote on social media Sunday.
The shelter is reportedly housing a litter of six happy, energetic puppies, as well as adult dogs.
“The only way we can do this is with YOUR help,” animal advocates in Anderson County said. “If you can find room in your house for a shelter dog, it would open up more kennels for the displaced pets.”
Those interested in temporarily fostering these evacuated pets can contact ACACC at (502) 517-2850.
