High Water Forces Closure of I-69 in Daviess County

Staff report

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (April 5, 2025) — Heavy rains and rising waters have forced the closure of Interstate 69 in both directions through Daviess County, according to the Indiana State Police Jasper District.

The closure affects I-69 southbound from State Road 58 East to U.S. 231 South to U.S. 50 West. Northbound traffic is being detoured from U.S. 50 East to U.S. 231 North to State Road 58 West.

Authorities have not provided an estimate for when the interstate will reopen but said they will update the public as soon as conditions allow for safe travel.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area, follow posted detour routes, and use caution when driving through water-covered roads.
