16 arrested, hundreds of dollars in stolen merch recovered in WashCo retail theft mission

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Sixteen people were arrested and hundreds of dollars worth of stolen merchandise was recovered in a recent retail theft mission in Washington County.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the Friday mission centered on thefts from Target and Home Depot stores within the city of Beaverton and throughout the county.

The adults arrested ranged in age from 23 to 48. WCSO said they also took four minors into custody.

While most were charged with second and third-degree theft, others were wanted on warrants and one was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says they intend to continue these missions and partner with other law enforcement agencies to combat shoplifting.
