FALMOUTH, Ky. (FOX 56)— Residents of Falmouth were told to evacuate on Saturday as flooding worsened due to heavy rain.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Pendleton County Emergency Management (PCEM) announced a mandatory evacuation for the city of Falmouth.

Those who live in the city have been given until 8 p.m. on Saturday to evacuate, after which time emergency management officials said utilities would not be guaranteed.

PCEM wrote that if you live in Falmouth and choose to stay, emergency responders and rescue teams may not be able to get to you in case of an emergency.

“Now is the time to leave,” city leaders said.
