SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Salt Lake City Police have released new information regarding Friday evening’s crash on South State St.
At around 6:50 p.m. on Friday, April 4, police received multiple calls about a crash at 1300 South State St. Officers responded and found a woman in her 30s on the ground with critical and “potentially life-threatening” injuries, according to a press release.
Paramedics reportedly took the woman to the hospital in critical condition. Due to the severity of her injuries, police will be conducting an extended investigation into this incident.
“Preliminary information suggests the truck involved was turning from State Street to 1300 South (east), and the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on State Street,” the release states. “However, the specific cause and circumstances of the crash are under investigation.”
Traffic delays are expected in the area of 1300 South State St. for the next several hours, police said. Drivers are asked to use Main Street as a north and south detour and 1700 South or 900 South as an east and west detour.
“There is no estimated time for when the road will reopen,” SLCPD stated.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation at this time.
