ISP says troopers responded to the location around 11:30 p.m., a preliminary investigation indicating a Nissan sedan was stalled in the second left inside lane when a semi-truck that was unable to stop crashed into its rear end.
The driver of the sedan was taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead, according to ISP. A passenger in the sedan was also taken to an area hospital with injuries.
All northbound lanes of I-94 were closed at the scene overnight, with traffic being re-rerouted off the expressway at 63rd Street. All lanes were reopened by around 4:15 a.m. Saturday, ISP says.
No other information on the crash is available at this time.
