NOTE: This article is an almanac of Tuesday’s weather. We have published a new forecast/weather story for Wednesday.
April began on a chilly note!
Highs were no warmer than the 40s areawide, even some areas near the lake even shivered in the 30s, a level well below the low to mid 50s that’s typical for this time of year.
It was a notable change coming off the 5th warmest March on record at Midway Airport and the warmest since 2012 with an average temperature more than 5-degrees above normal.
Many locations across the Upper Midwest began the new month with readings far chillier than usual.
Tuesday marks the official start of the allergy counts, courtesy of Allergist Dr. Rachna Shah and Loyola Medicine.
These counts will be provided each week-day through the end of September.
