Kentucky schools announce closures due to flooding concerns

KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — Schools across the Commonwealth have begun to announce closures and NTI days as severe weather is expected to continue.

Rainfall, hail, and tornadoic conditions swept across the bluegrass overnight on April 3, and some roads are already impassable due to flooding. Rain is forecast to persist through Sunday.

“Due to flooding in some of our low-lying areas, as well as concerns about small bridges and bus turnarounds (more rain is coming!), there will be no school tomorrow (Friday, April 4) for students,” Russell County Schools wrote.
