INDIANAPOLIS — A teen was arrested on Wednesday after a reported gas station armed robbery on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

According to officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers with the department’s east district responded to a gas station located at 6990 Pendleton Pike on a report of an armed robbery.

When IMPD officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman who had reported injuries to her face. Officials said she had reportedly been robbed of her handgun and was struck in the face with a handgun by a person, later identified as the 17-year-old.

After officers obtained a description of the teen, responding officers reportedly located the 17-year-old, causing a foot pursuit to begin. IMPD said the teen reportedly dropped a handgun and a backpack before he was apprehended.

At the scene, IMPD officers reportedly recovered two handguns, one of which was equipped with a machine gun conversion device and another matching the description of the woman’s stolen handgun. IMPD also reported that marijuana and a “large amount of commercial THC products” were recovered.
