Illinois lottery winner yet to claim $349 million prize, remains unidentified

CORTLAND, Ill. (WTVO) — The winner of a $349 million Illinois Lottery Mega Millions ticket, purchased at a Casey’s General Store in Cortland, has still not come forward to claim their prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Casey’s, located at 70 S. Somonauk Road, for the March 25th, 2025, drawing.

“It’s the talk of the town, and the store is still buzzing with excitement”, said Kim Shaw, Casey’s District Manager. “This is the biggest jackpot-winning ticket our store has ever sold. We’re thrilled for the winner, and selfishly, we hope it’s one of our regular customers—keeping the winnings in the community would make it even more special.”

The Casey’s store received a cash bonus of $500,000 for selling the winning ticket.

To ensure their winnings are protected, the Lottery has three key pieces of advice for the newly minted millionaire:

  1. Sign the back of the ticket and keep it somewhere safe
  2. Seek professional financial and legal advice
  3. Call the Lottery Player Hotline at 1-800-252-1775 to arrange a private appointment to claim the prize
