CEDARVILLE, Ill. (WTVO) — The Village of Cedarville is under a boil order until further notice due to a water main break, according to officials.
A boil order is issued when problems with a water system increases the possibility of bacterial contamination.
Under the Boil Order, residents should boil their tap water for one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Do not use water from any appliance connected to your water line, such as ice and water from a refrigerator.
In many cases, you can use tap water and soap to wash your hands during a boil water advisory. Be careful not to swallow any water when bathing or showering.
Officials did not give the anticipated length of the repair time.
