BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A family has been taken to the hospital after taking shelter during Wednesday night’s severe storms.
Ballard County Emergency Management officials said the Gage community “experienced what appears to have been a tornado,” damaging multiple buildings and homes.
During the storms, a family reportedly tried to find shelter underneath a church carport.
“The church suffered a direct hit from debris, causing severe structural damage,” Ballard County authorities said.

ToggleBCEM wrote that all four family members were taken to a local hospital. One of them was listed in critical condition.
On Thursday, Ballard County emergency management officials will survey damage in affected areas. Residents impacted by storm damage are asked to contact the Office of Emergency Management at (270) 665-9928 after 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, to get on the list for a damage assessment.
