Adair County teacher allegedly asked juvenile to kill her husband

COLUMBIA, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police are investigating after letters and explicit materials were found on Sunday in a juvenile’s room at the Adair Juvenile Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police said the materials were sent by an Adair County school teacher assigned to the facility during a routine search.

According to a news release, detectives allegedly discovered evidence that 27-year-old Elena Bardin, of Columbia, solicited the juvenile to kill her husband.

She also allegedly subjected the juvenile to illegal sexual contact and provided him with sexually explicit images of herself.

Police arrested Bardin on Wednesday. She was lodged in the Adair County Detention Center and charged with murder—solicitation, first-degree sexual abuse, and distribution of obscene matter to a minor—first offense.
