McNamara focused his re-election campaign on reducing crime, strengthening neighborhoods and schools, and encouraging economic development. He said wanted to continue the momentum happening in the city, pointing out how the city was known as the underwater mortgage capital to the hottest housing market in America.
Kunz, a political newcomer, is a real estate agent who serves on the Winnebago County Board of Health and is Chair of the Policy Committee. Kunz campaigned on prioritizing public safety and said he wanted to engage the school district and the community to better prepare children.
