Jackson mayoral race appears to be heading toward a runoff between two Democrats
JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – It appears the Jackson mayoral race will proceed to a runoff between two Democratic candidates.
With 80 out of 81 precincts reporting, State Sen. John Horhn is leading the race with 11,909 votes. Incumbent Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba has the second highest amount of votes at 4,124.

Horhn and Lumumba are expected to advance to the Democratic Primary Runoff on April 22. Whoever wins the runoff will advance to the General Election on June 3.
