Dog treat bakery in Rockford announces closure after 14 years

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Canine Crunchery, a gourmet dog treat bakery in Rockford, is going out of business.

The store, located at 1888 Daimler Road, announced the closure on Wednesday.

“After 14 incredible years of baking wholesome, tail-wagging treats, The Canine Crunchery is preparing for its final chapter. On April 30, we have made the heartfelt decision to retire, leaving behind a legacy of delicious dog treats and cherished community canine connections,” the owners wrote.

The company made biscuits and treats meant to “pamper your pooch.”

“As we step into retirement, we are looking forward to new business ideas and new adventures, including long-awaited visits with out-of-state loved ones – especially our very special family matriarch, Jane’s 96-year-old mother,” the Facebook post continued.

The Canine Crunchery plans to close from April 3rd to April 9th in preparation for a special closing sale that will begin on April 11th and run through the 26th.
