While on the scene of the first shooting, Louisiana First News’ photographer, Brett Landrews, witnessed another shooting while other people and police units were in the area.
“It was a lot going on,” said Landrews. “I’ve been doing this for a long time, and when I arrived at the scene, it was a regular shooting scene. All I heard out of the blue were shots ringing, and that was just out of the ordinary.”
Autopsies are pending in both cases.
BRPD officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 12200 block of La Margie Avenue around 6:45 p.m. that left one man dead. The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Samuel Jackson, 25, on Wednesday morning.
Police said a motive and suspect in this case are unknown at this time.
