According to an affidavit, on Oct. 18, 2024, BRPD officers were alerted of high traffic to a home on Cristy Drive. During surveillance of the property, investigators reported seeing several people being served drugs through a side door.
Investigators also saw a car in the driveway next to the home, a driver approach a man standing outside of the home on Cristy Drive before going back into the car. As the vehicle left the area, police attempted a traffic stop, which led to a search of the car. During the search, officers found an amount of drugs in a freshly bagged bag.
The affidavit states that investigators continued surveillance of the home and saw two people in a car in the driveway of the home. Officers made contact with the pair and detained them. Officers approached the residence, where a woman informed them that one person was inside with a 3-month-old baby. The individual was identified as Norman Turner, 40.
A warrant for the home was granted, and the following items were seized:
Officers reportedly found the THC vape cartridges and an amount of marijuana in the baby’s room.
According to police, Turner admitted to owning the crack cocaine but said he was unaware of the fentanyl in the home during questioning.
Turner was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the following charges:
Jail records show Turner was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on March 27. No bond amount has been set for Turner.
