SDVI Collaborating With AWS to Accelerate Cloud-Based Media Supply Chain Innovation

SDVI, a platform provider for cloud-native media supply chains, has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services, to revolutionize media operations in the cloud. Together, the companies aim to deliver new solutions that “simplify content supply chain deployment and operations, making media operations more agile and efficient for companies of all sizes.”

As part of the collaboration, SDVI will leverage AWS services to automate and accelerate the exchange of content through the AWS cloud, making it easier and faster for media companies to move content between suppliers and distributors. The collaboration will also lead to the expansion of the company’s addressable market and the availability of its market-leading supply chain tools for any media company through AWS Marketplace. SDVI will also work with AWS to integrate AWS GenAI tools into its core platform, providing next-generation capabilities for their joint customers.

“We have been part of the AWS Partner Network since the beginning of the company, and with the SCA, we are elevating our relationship to a new level,” said Lawrence Kaplan, SDVI president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to both technical and commercial collaboration that will enable us to grow our product offering and market adoption significantly with AWS.”

Hearst Networks EMEA began migrating its media supply chains to AWS using the SDVI Rally platform in the fall of 2023. Since then, the broadcaster has continued to migrate additional workloads in its media operations to the cloud under the management of Rally. The collaboration between SDVI and AWS will support development intended to enable Hearst Networks and other media organizations to extend their supply chains to their partners who supply content to them and to the many distributors who operate content delivery services to consumers.

Matt Westrup, chief technology officer for Hearst Networks EMEA, says: “We are highly supportive of this collaboration between SDVI and AWS, as they are both key partners to Hearst Networks and to each other. Having already embraced the AWS cloud for much of our storage and media processing along with the SDVI Rally management platform, we are excited about what innovation and improvements this will bring to what we have already achieved together.”

“SDVI and AWS share a commitment to being customer-centric, and we are excited about this collaboration as a mechanism to bring even more media supply chain innovation to our joint customers,” adds Chris Blandy, AWS global leader of strategy and business development for media and entertainment. “This collaboration agreement builds on an already strong relationship between our organizations, and I look forward to executing on the plans that SDVI has laid out for its expanded offerings.”
