HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Hanford Police are actively searching for a man they suspect is armed and dangerous after he allegedly shot a victim in March.

Police say on March 21, around 11:40 a.m., they responded to a report of a person who had been shot in the 200 block of East Second Street.

Responding officers reported a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg who was eventually transported to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Investigators identified 29-year-old Juan Sturr of Lakeport, California, as the suspect.

Detectives determined the shooting was a result of a disturbance between the two; Sturr had reportedly fled before officers arrived.

Officers say they authored a warrant for Sturr’s arrest on suspicion of committing assault with a deadly weapon and consider him armed and dangerous.

Anyone with any information regarding Sturr’s whereabouts is asked to contact Hanford Police Street Crimes Investigator C. Wyand at 559-585-2540. If seen, the public is advised not to approach him and immediately contact law enforcement.
